As a kid, Ha-Myeong (Lee Jong-Suk) grew up in a family with his firefighter father, mother and older sibling. Ha-Myeong and his older brother (Yoon Gyun-Sang) both have greater than normal intelligence and take pride in their father. A fire at a waste center though ruins his family. His mom dies a short time later and Ha-Myeong winds up being scooped out of the ocean by an unidentified man (Byun Hee-Bong).

The man that pulls Ha-Myeong from the ocean is the grandpa of In-Ha (Park Shin-Hye). In-Ha’s grandfather thinks Ha-Myeong is his oldest kid Dal-Po, who died Thirty Years back. Ha-Myeong is then adopted by In-Ha’s grandpa and his name is altered to Dal-Po. In-Ha and Dal-Po now cohabit as uncle and niece, although they remain in the exact same age variety. In-Ha has a Pinocchio Syndrome. Whenever she lies she gets the hiccups. In-Ha and Dal-Po get along well up until Dal-Po discovers that In-Ha’s mother (Jin Kyung) is the reporter that covered the waste center fire that ruined his household. Dal-Po attempts to distance himself from In-Ha, but he also establishes feelings for her.

Years later on, Dal-Po and In-Ha’s household are now residing in Seoul. In-Ha attempts to become a reporter like her mother. In-Ha meets her mom for the very first time in years at a task interview for MSC Broadcasting Station. Her mother is the individual offering her the job interview. In-Ha though fails the task interview. Because of her Pinocchio Syndrome, her mom rejects her.

Dal-Po is now driving a taxi to support their household. One day, Dal-Po satisfies In-Ha’s mom and chooses to end up being a press reporter.
